The Calm Night - Poem from "The Silent Darkness" by Lisa M. Bello

It was hazy,
I was dizzy,
Friends they spoke their minds.
He was heavy,
words were many,
The love I could not hide.
His warm comfort,
Gave a love for,
I have never felt.
Kissed on the shoulder like a lover destined to be a friend.
I could have spoke all night,
To the light of his eyes.
Shined so bright.
My eyes could only see,
The most beautiful feeling,
Was him revealing,
His feeling for me.
Through his eyes,
A thousand lives
A million tangled cells.
Fighting for freedom,
Fighting for himself.
My before love
Witness to all my pain.
I'm lying when I say,
I love him again.
I only love my special friend.
No one knows.
If only
If only I had the heart.
If only I'd paid the time.
To talk to you,
To bring you love.
And not waste it,
Not waste it like I did.
You are no better than me with your words. I don't want to share your family
I don't want control.
All I want is you.
And all the love you hold.
You held for so long.
If only I had known.
If only I had loved….
You.
It's funny how you miss things,
When they were never truly yours.
